TL;DR When people ask AI for the best lawyer in Atlanta, the same names keep coming back, like Alston & Bird in business law and Kessler & Solomiany in family law. We ran thousands of Atlanta queries through ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude and found three firms take about a third of the answers in any practice area, built mostly off Super Lawyers and Justia.

That’s the moment we wanted to see clearly. So we ran that question, and 24 more like it, across every practice area in Atlanta, through four different AI tools.
The Front Page Changed
For 20 years, getting found in Atlanta meant ranking on Google. Ten links, and the searcher did the picking. You could sit fourth or fifth and still get the call.

What AI Says About Atlanta Lawyers
We read 2,025 clean Atlanta answers, across 25 practice areas, from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude.
The same names own the top. In Atlanta business law, three firms took almost half of every answer: Alston & Bird, King & Spalding, and Morris, Manning & Martin.
In family law, it was Kessler & Solomiany, Meriwether & Tharp, and The Siemon Law Firm.
In personal injury, Morgan & Morgan, Kaine Law, and Butler Law Firm.
In criminal defense, Garland, Samuel & Loeb led the field.
Across the board, the top 3 firms in any Atlanta practice area pulled about a third of all the names the tools gave out.
Below them sat a long line, roughly 58 different firms per practice area, most named once and then gone.
Two things stood out about Atlanta. First, the tools barely agreed with each other. Ask ChatGPT and Perplexity the same Atlanta question and their lists of firms overlapped about 6%.
Second, Gemini mostly stayed quiet, naming an actual Atlanta firm in only about 5% of its answers.
And when Perplexity did name firms, it wasn’t reading their websites. 98% of its Atlanta answers cited a directory. Super Lawyers showed up in 15.6% of its sources, Justia in 13.4%.
Those two sites alone shaped more than a quarter of what the tool said about Atlanta lawyers.
Being Named Isn't Being The Best
