STEVEN ADAIR MacDONALD & PARTNERS
Two brands. Two communities. One firm that finally had the marketing to match its reputation.
A 40-year San Francisco landlord-tenant practice whose marketing never matched what it had built. A Spanish-language tenant brand trying to reach a community that had largely been ignored. Forward Push built both.
Decades of expertise. No system behind it.
Steve MacDonald has practiced landlord-tenant law in San Francisco since 1979. The practice he built was formidable. The marketing behind it was not.
The hourly side of the firm, the revenue stream that should have been the most predictable, had gone quiet. Cases were not coming in the way they should have been for a firm with this depth of experience. There was no system for getting in front of the right landlord clients, showcasing the firm’s expertise, or converting interest into retained matters.
At the same time, the firm operated a second brand: Grupo Legal MacDonald, a Spanish-language practice focused exclusively on tenant rights across San Francisco, Oakland, and Berkeley. An entire community of Spanish-speaking tenants, many of them carrying real fears about whether seeking legal help could affect their immigration status, was reachable. But only with marketing built specifically for them, in their language, in a way that removed the barriers standing between them and legal representation.
Two brands. Two communities that needed to be reached in completely different ways. Neither had what they needed.
“My marketing problem was where do I begin? It was a hodgepodge of amateurish attempts over the years, the decades.”
One system. Built for two completely different audiences.

Grupo Legal MacDonald is not a translated version of the same firm. It is a separate brand built for Spanish-speaking tenants in San Francisco, Oakland, and Berkeley who face habitability problems, harassment, wrongful eviction, and rent control violations, and who carry real fears about whether seeking legal help could affect their immigration status.

40+
YEARS
Of landlord-tenant expertise in the Bay Area, finally backed by marketing that performs.
The results came faster than expected. Within two months of engaging Forward Push, the firm’s monthly consult count had climbed to its highest level in the prior year. The hourly practice that had gone quiet was moving again.
For Grupo Legal MacDonald, the work opened a door for a community that had largely been unreachable through traditional English-language legal marketing. Spanish-speaking tenants in San Francisco, Oakland, and Berkeley now had a brand that spoke to them in their language, addressed their real concerns, and made clear that the path to legal help was open regardless of immigration status.
Within a couple months, it was up to the highest month we had last year. A big step up from the immediately preceding two or three months. I'm experiencing people from his outfit that are going out of their way, getting out in front of a lot of issues, giving me more than I expected.
