What Is Social Proof?

How To Close More Word-Of-Mouth Referrals?

Transcript from the video:

This is your marketing minute from Forward Push, and today I wanted to talk to you about what is social proof.

Social proof is exactly what it sounds like. It’s showing someone that you are what you are. This happens a lot when you get a referral. Someone’s referring business to you, word of mouth. What happens is I recommend, I refer someone, they end up going to your website to make sure that what I’m saying matches up with exactly what your website says or what your social media accounts say or what your YouTube channel says about you. Right? Social proof.

So if someone comes to me and says they’re looking for X, Y, Z service, hey, I’ve got someone that can help you with that. I’m going to give them your name, your email, your website address. When they go to your website, they need to make sure that it matches up. That’s social proof.

It’s also just a great way to make sure that you’ve got your bases covered. So does your website, does your social media channels, does your YouTube channel, does anything that’s facing out to the public match up exactly with what you do?

That’s social proof. So I encourage you, spend some time, five minutes today, go through the different things that you have that the public can see and make sure that your social proof is right on point.

This has been your marketing minute from Forward Push. We are a marketing agency that helps small businesses and startups. And I will talk to you next week. Thanks.
