This is Your Marketing Minute from Forward Push and today I wanted to talk to you about marketing for your small business.

With the Coronavirus pandemic happening still in the United States, businesses are now more than ever thinking about pulling back on their marketing. I’m here to tell you that is not the right decision. You need to still market your business. Maybe not, keep your foot fully on the gas, but you definitely do not want to take it off and hit the brakes.

There are four things that you can do to maintain your marketing during this pandemic and for the rest of the year, let’s go over them. First off email newsletters. Email newsletters are the best way to get in front of your customer. Be right in their inbox. Share with them what you are doing. What are your hours? What safety precautions are you taking? And let them know about your latest blog release that’s got educational information to help their business grow.

The number two thing you can do to make sure that your marketing during this pandemic is keep your social media profiles active. More and more, we’re seeing a greater number of people spending time on Facebook Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn. People are working from home still they’re taking more breaks, and they’re grabbing their phone and going to social media. What are you doing to stay in front of all these perspective customers and your current clients? Are you posting about your business? Are you letting people know about your new hours? Are you sharing with them your latest blog post? Or maybe a live video letting them know what they can be doing to grow their business during this unprecedented times?

The third thing is advertising now. Certainly, when it comes to social media, it is a pay to play opportunity. If you want your post or your ads to be shown in front of the right audience, you’re going to need to put some budget behind it. But don’t forget. There’s also pay per click advertising like Google Ads. When you’re running Google Ads, you can make sure that the right person that is searching for what you do sees your ads and comes to your website.

And lastly, the fourth thing that you can do is blogging. Having content on your website that is up to date and educates your customers or your potential customers on what you do. You heard me mention in the previous points that having blog content on your website is a great thing to include in your email newsletters, on your social media. That’s why blogging is so important.

So there you go. Four things that you can do for your small business right now to make sure that you’re still marketing during this pandemic. My name’s Marc Apple. This has been another episode of Your Marketing Minute, and I’ll see you next week.
