Google recently made a change in how local business can be found using their search product.

They have removed the link to the Places search, which was found under the “More” drop-down menu option. This means that local businesses that used to be found by searchers this way is gone and will now only be found via paid and organic search, Google+ Local or Google Maps.


This change is just another example of Google’s local search experiments, refining how we search locally, and entrenching us even more in using all things Google.
