When it comes to content, the two things to remember are 1) deliver what your audience wants and 2) variety is the spice of life.
The term content refers to any text, image, or video consumed by visitors to your website. General web content is text written specifically for designated pages on your website, often with a marketing tone.
Outside of that, there’s a broad range of content options. Blogs use shorter, less formal article-style posts. Full-length articles (500-700 words) can be offered as both an individual webpage and a downloadable PDF. In fact, most written content can be treated that way, ranging from case studies to press releases to white papers. The advantage of the PDF format is that it allows you to design a layout that accentuates your branding.
Of course, it doesn’t have to be just text. Infographics are a visually exciting way to present information in an easily digestible format. Audio podcasts are easy to create and can build a loyal following while studies have shown that video content is one of the most effective ways to communicate with users.
