Why You Need To Use Them
Transcript from the video:
Hashtags, what’s the deal with hashtags and why should you use them?
Well, let’s jump in right away – five things hashtags will do for you.
One, they’re going to get you noticed.
Two, they’re going to increase your likes.
Three, posts with hashtags, get more shares.
Four people will save your posts more.
And lastly, you’ll get more followers because those hashtags are being used to find your post.
So if those five things aren’t enough to get you to start using hashtags, check this out.
Recent research has shown that Instagram posts that include hashtags get 70 percent more likes.
So now that you know that you can get more likes, more shares, more followers by using hashtags, how do you know what hashtags to use?
Well, here you go.
Six things that you can do to get the hashtags that you need correctly on your post.
Number one, find the hashtags that your audience is already using. So you have your list of followers, just go to their Instagram profiles and see what hashtags they’re using.
Number two, make sure that you’re using and discovering new hashtags always.
Here’s a little dirty secret about the Instagram algorithm… If you continually use the same hashtags over and over and over for every post that you use, the algorithm is going to start showing your posts less and less. That’s why you always gotta be discovering new hashtags to use so that you’re keeping your list of hashtags fresh.
Number three, and this goes back to what I was just saying. Make sure you’re diversifying your hashtags. So while you’re out discovering new ones, keep a list, and notice how many times that you’re using them and cycle through them so that you’re always diversifying the hashtags you were using.
And that brings me to another point, make sure you’re using hashtags that one are widely used, two hashtags that maybe aren’t getting so much love on the platform and three hashtags that we would consider long tail. When you were doing this you’re using all three types
of hashtags that are available to you. Really common ones, not so common ones and ones that just are dead on the money, but they’re very long tail and not getting that much use.
And my last point about hashtags is, be prepared. You really could say that this is really a great motto for everything you do on social media. So while you’re thinking about what your post is going to be, what you’re going to write, what the photo is going to look like. Be thinking about the hashtags at the same time – that’s being prepared.
And now, you know, some great tips about hashtags, how to use them, how to discover them and remember, on your next posts, #ForwardPush.
