What’s Startup Weekend EDU?

This weekend we don’t expect to get much sleep, in fact, if we do then we didn’t do Startup Weekend EDU right. We’re about to produce a new EDU venture!

It’s networking. It’s standing up in front of 120 strangers and pitching your idea for 1 minute. The ideas get voted on and teams form. In less than 48 hours you will deliver a product and a plan. Mentors and educational thought leaders will be on hand to help guide the process and come Sunday night, as you stand up again in front of 120 friends, you share your idea with the group.

Startup Weekend EDU follows the same structure as a regular Startup Weekend except the goal for this weekend is about improving education for everyone by solving real problems or opportunities faced by educators.

Who are Startup Weekenders?

We’re educators, marketing folks, designers, business development pros, legal teams, and all around specialists of startups. We come together for one weekend, with one goal, leave Sunday night with a plan (and a new business?) that will push education in the right direction.
