Shelves Filling Up With Pumpkin Beers
Continuing their dominance in the Pumpkin beer space, Seattle’s Elysian brought news this week of two new pumpkin beers and the return of one more.
New for 2013 comes the double pumpkin collaboration with San Francisco’s 21st Amendment, called He Said, He Said. Look for a canned four pack released by 21A of the Belgian-Style Tripel Ale brewed with pumpkin and ginger and the Baltic-Style Porter brewed with pumpkin, cinnamon and caraway in stores soon as well as a feature beer at Elysian’s Great Pumpkin Beer Festival October 4-6.
Returning this year is HopSquash, an Elysian & Ninkasi pumpkin collaboration that debuted last year.

Left Hand Brewery Celebrates 20 Years
If you’re in the Longmont, CO area on Friday September 21 – Saturday, September 22, be sure to stop in at Left Hand Brewery for their 20th Anniversary Celebration as well as their Oktoberfest happening.
Things kick off with the Longmont Mayor tapping the first keg and end with a brewery boot drink competition Saturday night. Highlights besides live music and great food include tapping some old Left Hand favorites such as Jackman’s Pale Ale, Motherlode Golden Ale, Deep Cover Brown Ale, Dunkelweiss, and Munich Dark Lager.
It’s been a great 20 years for Left Hand co-founders Eric & Dick, who are now up to 84 employees, are an employee-owned brewery, and have grown their original location from 2 acres to 7.5. In 2012, the brewery produced 49,549 barrels and ranked #43 on the list of the top 50 U.S. craft breweries.
