What state has the most breweries in the US?

Thanks to this week’s Idea of the Week from the New Yorker you can easily find out along with a wealth of other information about the state of craft beer in the US. The interactive map uses newly released 2012 data gathered by the Brewers Association, and allows you to easily see where America’s breweries are, who’s growing the fastest, and who’s the biggest, all with a few clicks.

Interesting fact from the map: Craft beer isn’t just a Pacific Northwest and California thing. The South is quickly becoming a hot spot, with the annual production growing faster in the South than just about anywhere else in the country. From 2011 to 2012, the South’s fastest-growing producers including Alabama (first out of all fifty states), Tennessee (fifth), Florida (seventh), and Kentucky (eighth).
