Vision Rehabilitation Services

Reaching the Fundraising Finish Line with a Local Non-Profit.

Overview

Vision Rehabilitation Services of Georgia (VRS) had big goals for their annual fundraising race and needed a marketing partner to help them reach the finish line.

Background

VRS offers in-home training, equipment, and support groups for Georgia residents who are blind or visually impaired. Through these resources, VRS helps individuals regain independence so they can function in daily life and in different environments.

The Problem

New Location,
Less Involvement

Even though this was their 10th year organizing this event, VRS had recently changed race locations and saw a decrease in participation. Their goal was to reach 1,000 runners, which was a strong increase over their previous year. It meant we needed to bring in two key marketing elements: remarketing to those already familiar with the race, and increasing online awareness in the local area.

We Will Definitely Be Engaging in Future Projects With Forward Push

“The results from our 1st year in Powder Springs (2017) to our 2nd year in Powder Springs resulted in a 30% increase in participants. Our goal is to continue to grow our Spooktacular Chase annual fundraising event as well as awareness of the work our non-profit organization performs.”

Our Solution

Content Generation For Thought-Leadership

  • Email newsletters

  • Online Advertising

Email Newsletters

We used email newsletters in the weeks leading up to the event to remarket to VRS’s current email list. Because this was a list filled with past participants, we were reaching those most likely to run again. This retargeting was a significant driver of signups, and shows the value of a company’s email list!

Online Advertising

We chose to use online advertising for this event so that we could reach those likely to sign up for a race but who were unfamiliar with VRS. Through pay-per-click and social media advertising, we increased awareness and registrations for the event.

A Successful Race That Reached the Finished Line

With this two-pronged strategy and despite their new location, we increased registration by 30% to help VRS in their mission to provide blind and visually-impaired individuals with the resources they need to live fulfilled lives.
